5 TIPS WHEN STORING YOUR L’ETO GOWN

With the current environment resulting in postponed weddings all over the world, we thought it would be helpful to share the best way to store your gown until your new date comes around in order to ensure it remains beautiful, fresh and ready to wear for your big day.

1. Avoid hanging.

Due to the delicate nature of L’eto gowns, it is best to avoid hanging your dress for extended periods of time to ensure the fabric doesn’t pull or stretch under the weight of itself. Instead, leave your gown in its garment bag (never plastic), folded in the box and occasionally pull it and hang it for 30 mins or so to allow it to air. When hanging, ensure you are using the garment tags and not the shoulder seams to avoid the fabric sagging.

2. Keep in a cool, dry place.

When storing a garment of any kind, it is best to avoid any form of humidity and direct sunlight. Ensure you have found a cool, dry place to store your gown, away from any type of moisture (i.e bathrooms, diffusers ect) and somewhere with a constant temperature.

3. Out of sight, out of mind.

As many weddings have been postponed for up to 12 months or more, we recommend storing your dress at a trusted friend or family members house in order to avoid the constant reminder of your postponed wedding and also the temptation of trying it on.

4. Check on regularly.

We recommend checking on your dress every month or so to ensure it is dry and undamaged and to allow the fabric the chance to breathe a little. Ensure you give the gown a really good inspection each time, if small moisture spores start to show up, it’s best to tackles these immediately with a trusted dry cleaner that specialises in wedding dresses.

5. Try on 3 months out from your new date.

When your new date is roughly 3 months out, we recommend trying on your gown and booking in an appointment to make any alterations if required. This will allow time for any changes to be made and ensure your dress is ready for your big day.

We send so much love to all of the L’eto brides who weren’t able to celebrate their dream day this year, we have no doubt that the day will be even more incredible once it finally arrives.

Much love,
